Top 5 Autumn Beauty Must Haves
WITH the weather getting a bit colder, it’s time to swap over from our summer beauty regimes to one suited to the colder weather. The most important thing is to keep moisturised because cold weather means indoor heating and fires which can make your skin/lips crack and your hair dry.
So here’s my top 5 items that every girl needs to have to combat Autumn weather and keep in tip-top shape!
Vaseline – This should be a staple item in any girls beauty arsenal, it can be used for so many things. Mascara, eyebrow wax, moisturiser, cuticle softener, makeup remover…what I use it most for is as a to keep my lips mositurised and soft. I especially love the aloe vera version (as you can tell by my well used photo)!
Moisturiser – Indoor heating dries out your skin and combined with cold wind and rain can make your skin sore and cracked. Nobody wants that! Use an intensive moisturiser to keep your skin soft and supple. Focus especially on your elbows, knees and feet! As a bonus, this will make your skin tan-ready! No dry patches in sight!
Nail Polish – This is kind of a two for one, use a moisturising/strengthening base to take care of your nails and then apply a few coats of a dark autumny nail polish. My favourite one is No.393 Desire by Rimmel Pro. A shade like this will see you from Autumn through the festive season and into early Spring.
Hand Cream – Apart from your face, your hands are the next most exposed body part during the Autumn. You can’t keep your gloves on all the time! If you’re like me and have especially sensitive hands then you need to take extra special care of them. I use an intensive hand cream from L’Occitane to keep my hands soft and moisturised. Anything with shea butter or Vitamin E in will do the job!
Intensive Oil Hair Treatment – As the weather gets colder, you can’t get away with letting your hair dry naturally as much anymore so you will use hairdryers/straighteners more which will dry out your hair. Combined with indoor heating etc this can create some crispy dry hair! The only way to combat this is to use an intensive moisturising hair treatment and a good conditioner, I usually use an Argan oil applied to the ends of my hair after a shower. When I don’t have anything to do I apply a full head and leave it in for half an hour or so for super soft and shiny locks!
The photos included are of my favourite products but you can use any similar products that will do the job just as well I’m sure! What are your must-have products for Autumn?
