David Moyes Out
DAVID Moyes has been sacked, only 10 months after replacing Sir Alex Ferguson as the manager of Manchester United.
Moyes was sacked early this morning by Vice-Chairman Ed Woodward during a meeting at the club’s Carrington training ground. The club thanked Moyes for the hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role of manager. Ryan Giggs – a team player and occasional coach – has been appointed as caretaker manager until a more permanent replacement can be found.
Ferguson personally recommended the 50-year-old Scottish manager and with 26 years in charge, 13 league titles and two European cups – the club was quick to listen to him. Moyes was given a six-year contract but the team have launched from one crisis to another. In his short term as manager, out of 51 games, they won 27, drew 9 and lost 15.
The final straw came for Old Trafford bosses after the 2-0 defeat to Everton on Sunday showed the Manchester United club failing to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since 1995. The team is also set to end the season with the worst points total in Premier League history. Fans have taken to Twitter to either slam or show support for the fallen manager, with many of them taking the view that he’s not the only one to blame, having inherited a more than lackluster team from Ferguson.

Some football fans are funny. They moan about players and managers loyalty but have no problem booing and booting them out. #DavidMoyes

Much debate about #DavidMoyes but the real question is how many radio sports hacks had their “Moyes sacked” voicer pre-written?
